The Glass Half Full
See the glass half full, something we often hear people advise, but not easy to comprehend or execute. Basically, if a glass is half filled with water, do we see the water or do we see the empty part? Some will link it to being optimist or pessimist. I prefer to use having appreciation to guide my thinking. Focus and thank God (or whoever we love) for the things we have. If we always complain or stress over what we do not have, there is no ending to it. Because there are too many things we do not have or will never have, and we will forever be unhappy for all the things that we wished we had. For example, be grateful that we have a bowl of noodles for lunch, instead of being unhappy that our favourite chicken rice stall was closed that day. Be happy that our boss is not in office today to disturb us, rather than wishing we had taken a day off. What we have is finite. We can see and feel. What we do not have is infinite, and ...
